TEA is currently seeking a Full-Time Junior Electrical Designer with a positive and collaborative work style to join our growing teams in Brewster, NY. The successful candidate(s) will assist with the design of Headsets, Press To Talk Switches, and other low-voltage systems for our design projects and the production of all plans associated with that design. The Junior Electrical Designer will also participate in development administration services during the electrical systems prototyping and manufacturing. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Works with senior team members to design electrical systems for building design projects.
  • Makes site visits with senior team members to document existing systems and gather existing owner documentation X<2%.
  • Works with senior team members on conceptual designs, equipment selection, calculations, and preparation of design drawings and specifications.
  • Codes and Standards research.
  • Assists during the project prototyping and manufacturing phase with first article testing and reporting.
  • Interacts closely with all phases of product procurement.
  • Is a part of the Design team and works to create and collaborate on design sketches, layouts, and plans.
  • Uses computer-assisted design software to create preliminary and detailed drawings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in CAD software, and MS office Suite of applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and filing skills.
  • Maintains a personal queue of tasks to perform/complete by priority in a gated design and development structure. Manages personal workflow, stress, and mental health in a professional work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate’s degree in a technical field of study is also acceptable, with 2+ years of related experience is required.
  • Previous experience in the communications industry is preferred.
  • A background in analog, digital, RF, DSP, USB, Bluetooth, Wifi and/or microprocessor design is a plus.
